I'm sure that title sounds confusing, but I'm looking for a 'history' of the highish-end headphones put out by Audio Technica, and I'm especially interested in information about all their woodies, leather and any other 'limited' headphones they've put out - and they do seem to have produced a lot more limited editions than all the other high end headphone companies.
I've read more recent threads about the L3000, and the W5000 and the A900LTD, all of which intrigue me, but I'd also like to know about the other ATs out there.
I tried a google search for Audio Technica headphones fan site, unofficial, timeline, history and various combinations and of course I read the history on their official english web site which truthfully doesn't seem too concerned about the headphones aspect of their business, it's all about their microphones (they made tube based condenser microphones recently?!)
I've also done a search of all threads with Audio Technica in the title here on head-fi, but I'm looking for some more centralized and / or comprehensive.
If anyone has some good AT links saved up that they'd care to post or can post some info about the history of releases from AT that would be of interest to Head-Fiers, I'd be very grateful!

You can check out my page at http://headphones.warzone.org .. it's mainly photos and specifications. To view only the discontinued headphones from AT, click the Search tab, select AT as the manufacturer, and 'No' for In Production. I think it's decently complete as far as models go.

I have to say that I use your website all the time. Excellent job. I don't see the AT W10VTG's.

SO the W1000 is the top of the line?

Cool, I own those but I had no idea they were the topend.

I think the W5000 is the top of the line now.

There are minor discrepancies on headphones.warzone.org regarding ATH-W5000:

Not that anyone will hear it but Frequency Response: 5~45,000Hz, not "5 - 40,000 Hz". But most importantly, it is a hefty 350g not "320g" :>

W5000 is top of "production line", whereas "limited edition line" is L3000.
