Hi,

After turning my UE Triple.fi 10's into customs (with additional mid driver) I wanted to get a pair of headphones. I live in Hong Kong and I was quite interested with the Audio Technica ESW9 and the Denon D2000. The shop I looked at sold this at similar prices. I mainly listen to classical and some pop and I would like to ask which pair would be more ideal. Comfort is not the issue, I'm just interested in the sound quality since I prefer clean sounds and not muddy-like sounding headphones.

Thanks!

Well, I don´t own either of the phones... I´ve gotten the impression that ESW9 would have more neutral sound than D2000. I might be wrong. xD

D2000 is good for everything that is modern, not classical, but very much pop.

From what I've read the D2000s are very similar to the D5000s, which I have.
The D5000s have good clarity and sound absolutely natural with classical, instrumental timbre is spot on.
I mainly listen classical music with the Denons
But there is one BUT...if you don't like the sound to be colored in the lower regions stay away from the Denons.
For many the bass is too much of a good thing.
