Hi,

I was thinking a new set of headphones and i've come across the Audio-Technica ES7 and the Sennheiser HD 238. I would like to ask what kind of sound does each headphone produce and which would be the better choice. I mostly listen to classical and pop. I not a basshead, just a a fair amount of bass will do.

Thanks!

We would all encourage you to use the Search This Forum function to read what people have said about those 2 phones. You will find plenty of posts about them, esp. the ES7 -- loads of post about that.

ES7 - are supposed to be full and deep. The HD238 are very crisp, but don't expect a lot of gut thumping bass.

You might also consider the Denon AH-D 1001's. I have them along with the HD 238's. At one time I had the ES7's but sold them off after evaluating them against the Denon's for about a month. The HD 238's are pretty good for a portable headphone but the Denon's are just better sounding and more durable IMO. Any of the 3 would be a good choice. Just use the search function and you will find all you need to know.

I prefer the HD238 to the ES7. I don't have the ES7 anymore though so I cant do a direct comparison, but I just prefer the more open sound of the HD238.
