I have had a pair of ESW9's for about a year but with no more than a month of heavy wear (meaning simply I wear them into the city).
The headphone band supposedly made of a supple lambskin is starting to disintegrate and looks like it is actually a crappy synthetic copy of leather, So only the ear cups are truly leather. When quoted a new headphone band price it was 1/3rd of the cost of a new pair of ESW9s plus they wont sell the part but force the customer to have the repairs done by AT technicians.
I am a person who will happily spend good money for quality products that last the test of time in repayment. I will never touch another Audio Technica product. Please be aware these are the best sounding portable headphones I have heard but the build quality is shocking and AT try to bushwhack you when the parts fail.
Let the buyer beware.
