Hi, does anyone has a loose hinge on their r70X? Mine has started to loosen after 4 years. Or does anyone know a fix for it? I have disassembled it and tightened the screws but it still became loose after a few days of use. Thanks in advance.

One overdue tip I should've posted last month:
NEVER handle the R70x by the earcups when putting on / taking off your head. Instead hold it by the metal headband. The flimsy plastic sprockets one one side of mine broke, it wasn't fixable so I had to superglue the whole thing in one place; though unfortunately made it slightly angled wrong. I'm not interested in fixing mine, will just keep in case I want to try it again since it does still work.
I've now upgraded to the HEDDphone and have not needed to go back. More detail, wider FR, even better bass def. and overall resolution. Although the R70x was the best in its price, even than the more costly HD-600.

I’ve always grabbed both the base of the headband and earcups together. I’ll keep in mind that can be fragile.
Aren’t the HEDDphones very heavy headphones though? Like over 700g heavy. I have a couple headphones that are in the 400-500g+ range and that’s more than I like for more than a couple hours.

They're heavy but as long as your posture is fairly straight you won't feel it at all on your neck like some people. I only feel a hotspot on the top of my head - and this is with the band mod to eliminate the hotspot so it's only modest discomfort vs. worse with the stock version. I got mine used for 1/2 cost.
I am thinking of replacing the stock screws to a stronger one, if I manage to fix it I will post here. Seems like it is a common weak point the the r70x.
They are a bit small for me, my ears touches the outer cup and it’s a bit uncomfortable. They are very light and almost put zero pressure on the head , so if you can bear the ear part they are very comfortable for long sessions.
More than any other hp I have, at least.
I don’t see them failing more than other hps in general, I would actually say that they will hold up pretty well (my Focal feels way more fragile and prone to failing).
All in all, I feel like the problems with this headphone are way more present in the sound department.
Thanks - I've been test driving them the past few days. They have great sound and FR. But the ear cups are bothering me. I get hot spots on my hears from them. I ordered some brainwavz oval pads to see if this helps. Otherwise, I will unfortunately have to send them back if they're too uncomfortable to wear.

I had to really play with the metal strap for a while to get the earcups to fit at the proper angle, i found it was really more the placement of the cup vs the pad. It was kind of a pain but once i got it at the right angle it was great. I forget anything is on my head listening to them
