I don't hear any rattle, just the "mademoiselle" vocal. FWIW.
Hmmm weird. I do.. I normally don’t listen to rap or hip/hop with them so I guess it isn’t a big deal. You have any experience with the Sennheiser HD 650 or Massdrop HD 6XX? I enjoy the warm mess of my headphones now and the bass, but I think they may be too revealing for me or piercing? I heard the Sennheiser I mentioned was about the same but with a bit less detail. Might just pick one up anyways to have with them being $179 right now to try.

If Drop has a returns option, the HD6XX is probably worth a try for you.

I don't have any recent experience with the Sennheisers, but they are widely praised.

Crinacle's graphs suggest they are mostly similar up to the treble, but the HD6XX is lower in the 6K-10K area, which may be exactly what you hear as too grainy.

This review compared them, said the ATH-R70X are based on the HD650 (same as HD6XX) and preferred the ATH-R70X. But everyone's ears are different.

Thank you, I’ll probably just keep them if I don’t like them, maybe one day buy a tube amp for it to see what all the praise is about. Would look cool hung on the wall next to the what I have now! Stepping into this audio world went from cheapish powered speakers to diving down a hole of no return I fear. Lol.
