...when its plugged into my computer. The headphones sound amazing when using it with other devices, but when I try to use them on my Lenovo U410 it sounds like crap. Other headphones sound fine when used on my computer, there's just some type of compatibility problem with these two devices. Clearly my laptop is the problem, but I'm not entirely sure what to do. I've gone through the sound settings multiple times changing options, but nothing has worked for me so far.

This is your laptop's internal sound card. Most laptop manufacturers don't care about the DAC in the laptop so you end up with a garbage audio.
See, with quality headphones like the M50, you need a good source. If you feed them garbage, they will spit it back at you.

I highly recommend the AudioEngineD1. It's an external DAC that will show you a significant increase in terms of sound quality. It also has a built in amplifier, so more juice for your headphones.
