after many hours of burn-in, I am listening to My Humps (Black Eyed Peas).

The bass is superb, these headphones are awesome.
Mids aren't as clear as I'd like them to be.

The a500's mids were ..as I remember... none too shabby, in fact all the way around it was none too shabby. I'd imagine the a900's would be a good bit better. Give it some time.

I hate to be the negative voice here, but I think its safe to say that "my humps" is the worst song ever produced.

Oh yeah, and fergie pees herself...

Moral of the story? Don't listen to the Black Eyed Peas...

I'm listening to my ATH-900s that have just arrived (sweet!) and instantly I can hear the quality (or lack of) of some MP3 files. It's unbelieveable!

Okay so my Audigy 2 ZS source isn't the best, but I'm not sure that is the issue. Who knows.

Ever PRODUCED? The best part about that song IS the production! The beat is better than many of the mainstream songs out there, so don't bash. The lyrics are dumb yet playful, but the beat is what makes it listenable.

Anyway, is it bad that the main thing that's stopping me from getting a set of these a900s is the fact that its blue and not black?

nope, sorry. the song only has one redeeming quality, and that is that it is relatively short.

They are VERY comfortable, and they isolate about 10db. If that is enough for you then yes.

I'm not sure how much isolation I need, enough to cover the normal flight noise...engines, kids, etc. Comfort is important due to the length of the flights. Just want the best quality sound I can achieve in that environment!

Thanks,

I found when listening with my A900's in a car that I cannot hear the bass, but in a quiet room at home the bass pounds

I know this thread is WAY old, but I couldnt help but comment on this... I have the z-5500 and A900LTD and w/ coax input, the logitechs drive my cans considerably better than before on a set of z-540 & my ipod. *shrugs*
