Audio-Technica AT-HA5000?

I don't have the HA5K, but I do have the HA2002 to go with my W2002. Based on my experience with the combo, the HA2002 is the best match with the W2002 period (even best my SDS amp). So, I'm sure the HA5000 is definitely a great match to the W5K, if not the best.

Yes, I listened to the demo HA5000 that day with a CEC DA53 as source, then with a Chord DAC64. Transport was a Rotel CDP. Headphones used were my W5000 and the shop's AD2000, and also their AD1000 and AD900 briefly. The shop's three demo AD Series can be seen in the first photo.

The HA5000 isn't available for purchase at the shop yet. The W5000 with HA5000 sounded amazing with the Chord DAC64 as source. It was the best sound I've ever heard with the W5000. Classical music sounded incredibly realistic, especially violins and other string instruments.

The HA5000 also sounded great with the AD2000, but I also think the AD2000 sounds great with other amps such as the CEC HD53R, Corda Aria, and Lehmann BCL. As to be expected, I feel the HA5000 improved the W5000's sound much more relative to other amps than the AD2000.

I plan to go back for more listening time with the HA5000, using my Lavry DA10 as source to compare the W5000 with the L3000 and W2002.

Damn. Once again audio-technica claims the crown as producing the most refined and classy headphone rigs made. Congratulations on a beautiful setup.

Yes, the HA5000 vs. Dynahi should be interesting.

After I spent one year on Head-Fi without anyone with similar gear, now we have the Lavry DA10 as a common reference point.

Tachikoma, I'll try other headphones besides ATH with the HA5000 and report back. I'm way behind on posting impressions; I still owe Iron_Dreamer a SA5000 vs. AD2000 vs. W5000 comparison.

they give you the wine when you buy the HA5000 too? why don't you open one up and give us impressions and later a review on the wine.
