This thread is peaking my interest in HA5000 (again). Like they say, if you have an itch...you got to scratch it:-) I am having a major itch now

Why not? The HA5000 should be perfect with your W5000, and A900. My HA2002 also sounds great with both L3000, and W11JPN. You can sell your gilmore amp later.

thanks to this old thread, i've took the plunged with the HA-01. been burning it in for the past month and used many different cans with it.

some of the cans tried were D2000, D1000, DT880, DT990, DT531, DT831, A900, A1000, CD900ST, HD600, K701, RS1.

i've not experienced any noise that was discussed early in this thread. maybe it's the new improved version, i don't know. right now at least, it's dead quiet.

sonicswise. DAMM! u guys were right on the dot about this being an amazing amp. the bass kick and speed is really excellent. it's got nice air and stage, and wonderful musical immediacy. and all of a sudden the stubborn K701 is singing effortlessly. it's especially enjoyable with the Denon D2000 with great midbass whack and the vocals were sweet with a slight forward feel. it makes the other cans come to live! not a laidback amp but a little aggressive.

are any of you still using this amp? has the noise gone away?

I am going into major stealth ninja mode! I am doing a trade w/ another head fier for his W5000 using my W1000 and cash. I think my wife will not notice the change in cans. However, where do I hide the case!

Hahaha...it's taken you awhile. I have since mastered the art of Ninja upgrade and went through two complete system changes since I had my W5000. Tell your wife the cups between W1000 and W5000 are "interchangeable" and for the case....it makes a nice make-up case for her

I think you will like W5000. I noticed it takes a good amp to tame the honky mids.

Hi !
sorry to take up again this old thread
redface.gif

I wonder if anyone has a direct experience of the  AT-HA5000 and its sound.   Or information about a listening/lab test.
I spotted on ebay an amp said to be built on the same schematic

Thanks a lot for any kind information
Ciao !
