Looking for a cheap fullsize closed set of cans. The A700 and XB700 are both pretty affordable but I can't really chose between them. People say that they both have recessed mids and some powerful bass so I'm assuming sound signature is somewhat similar?

Anyhow I won't be listening to either out of any high end audio equipment. Sound is priority here but comfort is a close 2nd. If one is significantly more comfortable than the other I'll probably shoot for that one. The XB700 is about $30 cheaper so if one isn't significantly better in any ergonomic way I might just get (going by amazon prices here).

But I can also get the A900 for $176 which is like $70 cheaper than the amazon price which sounds like such a good deal perhaps I will get that instead? Haha, well I'd still like to know the difference between A700 and XB700.

A700 don't have a strong bass. the XB700's are a bit too much for me.

Is there room for the SRH440? FWIR they're great for the price.

I have a hard time believing any headphones could be more comfortable than the XB700's. I have mine on for many hours a day and they never feel uncomfortable. The ear pads are insanely huge and feel like pillows.

Also, of course, they have some killer bass.

I haven't used the A700, so I can't really compare, but I do love my XB700's.

You're not going to get the same amount of bass out of the A700s compared to the XB700s, I'd imagine. I mean, they're marketed as XBs. The A700s will probably be light in comparison, but have a refined taste for bass notes.

If XB700 is as comfortable as people say it is, then the difference between the two is in the choice of pads. It appears both of them use pleather.
