I am purchasing an audio interface for connecting a pair of studio monitors, guitar and keyboard. My intention is to also use this setup for music listening on my computer. Is it possible to use an audio interface such as the one below as an external DAC?

Thanks.

So in general all i need to do is run the installer and all sound will be routed to the USB port by default and output via the audio interface?

I would be careful with the word "default".  I'm not sure if your running Windows or Mac but on my Mac I have to set the interface to be default or select it within the application.

Cheers Darcy, i will make sure to check the settings. This is my first attempt at linking up my gears with a audio/recording interface, and hopefully everything work out fine.

Thanks to all who replied.

and i use my line6 ux1 as my dac as well, works better then on-board sound and from what i can tell, it worked better then my xonar dx that i have somewhere around the house.
