That's very interesting! Kind of the same concept as the Schiit statement amp. I think it's a very good idea to make headphone amps that also work as speaker amps (if that's the right way to put it). Then you don't have to sell it once it's time to upgrade, because a speaker amp can always be useful somewhere.

Just imagine what will happen to your expensive headphones and/or ears if you accidentally hit the button on the remote that puts it into High Volume mode....

I must thanks your doubt.
Based your doubt I improve on the control software, in any state change the volume mode from low to high, the volume will become 0. If the volume mode from high change to low mode, the volume steps will hold on current .

On the Master 8, the power output for high impedance headphones is the same in both modes. You have to watch out for the low impedance headphones though. My HE-6 loves the extra power and sounds more defined on high gain (individual instruments are more distinct and the soundstage is wider and more 3D).

50 ohm:   1800MW
100 ohm: 2500MW
300 ohm: 1200MW
600 ohm:   600MW
(Balanced , Class A , Low power model)

50 ohm:   7000MW
100 ohm: 3500MW
300 ohm: 1200MW
600 ohm:   600MW

Kingwa, this is looking like another winner. If there is another power amp based model in the future that will replace the Master 8 as your Master series gear, add me to your buyer list.

Could this be just 10 sets for order and then a revamped model based on it gets churned out? We ll see. :p
Good stuff nonetheless, something off the norm at least.

Hello Kingwa, I am glad to have been a little bit helpful for this, and am happy to see you were able to find a good solution so quickly.

I am curious if you plan to apply the same fix to the SA-31SE which now has a 17DB jump from low gain to high gain?

Alternatively, can the 5-button Audio-GD remote (that does not have the gain button) be ordered along with the SA-31SE or the Precision 1?
