I´am currently looking for an external DAC to be connected via coax/optical to a Xonar D2.
It will be paired with a Heed Canamp and AKG cans (K701, K271). The NFB3 looks really great but I don´t know which version to get.
Read somewhere that Kingwa recommended the 192 version for warmer sound but the chip used in the 96k seems to be really nice and has the least jitter.
Recommendations?

Having experimented with both, I'd guess maybe four out of five people would prefer the 96khz dir9001 module over the 192khz dir8416 module. Dir9001 has good transient resolution compared to dir8416. Dir8416 has a slightly dreamy sound to it, less distinct detail.

Indeed, I´d choose the 9001 - 96k receiver too but, even with the mellow Canamp in the middle, I´m also afraid it could be too hard with the highs through the K701. It seems this chip can handle jitter really well (50ps) but I know there´s people licking what more jitter can do -sometimes and randomly- with warmness/musicality.
So, 96khz all the way?

I would recommend 96khz dir9001, the 192khz dir8416 isn't just warm and musical, it loses some detail. The wm8741 should be slightly warm/smooth already, and now that I know your canamp is also warm, there's no point in getting a more warm digital receiver unless you like it all syrupy.
