Have any of you guys who own the NFB29 heard the HA-1 and can make a sound comparison? I currently have a he500 and k7xx driven by a NFB15. The HA-1 really made my he500s sound as i think they should. Much clearer/better detail with improved sound stage and imaging. Treble was better too. Been looking at the audio gd ess9018 dac/amps as im wanting to stick with kingwa's products!

I just received my Reference 5 and the ROC amp. Even through it is a old set it really outshine the HA-1 with more power at the single ended output and more clarity. It even has sharper crisper bass than my HA-1.  It is my first PCM1704UK based DAC and glad I got it. I do not think you be disappointed with the NFB29H.

As far as I' ve read, nope. The HD800 benefit from higher Zout amps or those with other type of "warmer" chips like the PCM1704.

The HD800S are more keen to go better with the nfb29.

The button on rear : Pull out for the DAC / preamp without volume control , Push into for the DAC / Preamp with volume control. The headphone output always had the volume control. Please operate the button while the unit power off .
