Which of these will make my HD598s sound better?
Audio-GD NFB-15
or
Schiit Vali/Modi 2-Uber
?

Thank you!

These are my final choices. (I've excluded O2/ODAC)

The NFB-15 comes with dual (WM8741) DAC chips.
The Modi only comes with one DAC chip.

Pardon my ignorance, but why does this make it better?

It doesn't make it better.

I vote for the Schiit stack.

With a single DAC chip, both audio signals run threw the same DAC chip.
It seems when dual DAC chips are used, each DAC chip is only processing one audio signal and it appears to raise the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio).

What do yo think Vali or Magni 2-Uber?
/
Modi 2 Uber

It depends on your headphones and sound preference, one is tube and the other is solid state. You better check their treads for comparison.

What matter most in DAC's is the implementation, not the tech specs.
