Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704)

I have the latest firmware installed and for the sake of science, humanity and my peace of mind I tested my M7 with PLLEN jumper off and on. I had it ON currently and it didn't sound as bad as I thought it would with the jumper OFF. Most definitely needs to be ON to bypass the internal clock.

PLL off (jumper on) is the best to me too.

Interesting mystery.
This page states the setting you refer to, and states support up to 192kHz.
But this page, which states 2016, DSP version 7, and 384kHz support via I2S and USB, shows the opposite settings. My M7 did play back 384kHz after installing the firmware, so I assume that the settings on the 2016 page were the correct ones.

It does sound like there may be different settings depending on the M7 version. Better people know about it and can try both if in doubt. Even before I got the external clock, bypassing PLL using i2s from a DI20 made a significant positive difference. Nice how flexible this dac was designed to be.

What a mess with these AudioGD products,
until today I have always read that to go into "NOS" mode the jumper MUST NOT be positioned on "Bypass".....
My Master 7 is from the end of 2016 and has the updated firmware V7

The Master 7 prior to the Singularity version has no internal clock and uses the source clock, so the very kind Jos from Magna Hifi tells me.
