What player do you use?
 
I had the rebooting problems some time ago and found two possible causes:
 
1. USB connection/cable:
- Try different USB port of your computer.
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable on both sides. /This helped me to some extent.
- Try a different USB cable.
 
2. Software problem: A conflicting combination of your audio player x drivers x system x system component x soft-related-etc.
My case: I loved foobar with Kernel Streaming and Wasapi but I had occasional rebooting problems with the built-in USB input of my M7 and with the Offramp (I2S) as well. I bought JRiver (use it with Wasapi) and no rebooting issues anymore. Everything is flawless now.

Anybody heard about the Gustard U10 converter? It is an affordable Chinese X-MOS converter that features i2s over HDMI and a built-in LPSU.
 
Could be fun to try for those with DACLadder's HDMI board.

It's number 2.
 
The player doesn't matter I don't even have to be playing music. Just Facebook on, leave it there, and it crashes after a while, same for youtube. I already formated my computer and it's the same.

Interesting converter but I found an HDMI pinout on one of the Ebay listings and its not quite compatible.   The polarity of two differential signals (DATA/ SDATA and LRCK/ LRCLK) are reversed.  Would have to swap connection on pins 1/3 and 7/9 on one side for it to work.  I would ask the sellers if there way the Gustard can do this.   Otherwise rework a cable or circuit board cut and jumps on one side of the HDMI cable.

Edit:  Looking at the gut shot of the interior the Gustard it could be directly compatible without need for rework.   The XMOS chip TTL I2S outputs connect directly to the HDMI driver chip and appears to be the type that is compatible with the M7 HDMI I2S board.  This is an assumption and would ask a lot of questions before ordering.

Just the card 130 and a linear psu I had from audio GD
And a reg they sell at PPA. and it's really very good

Okay I think I'm going for the OR5 to pair with the Master-7.  I was wondering, is Hynes i2 regulator and audio-gd muting mod good to go? or is the turboclock and PSU necesary to make it shine? I'm fed up with the crashes :s

I can thus advise. Buy the offramp with all the options.
But a linear psu can bought much cheaper.
Also get a battery psu like a LIpo polymer battery a three cell
Is the perfect voltage and in fact empirical use to sell them with batteries.
Either way it will improve almost any DAC

A PPA USB PCI express card and te cd adaptor
It just needs two rechargible batteries.
It too improves things very much

No I haven't tried it.  Is it the $25 USB3 add on card?   What is so special about the PPA brand?  Seems like a generic board to me but could be the holy grail.  Where are you seeing this and can you provide a link for some audio application?  thanks!
 
mowglycdb - Since you are having crashes you may as well try a different USB source from you computer.  Your MB may not be able to handle it.  Worth a try for not a lot a money.  My Dell MB plays Foobar2000 Wasapi with practically no resource overhead. You don't have to get too fancy - just something different for a test.

I just bought a ppa card myself, because it's easier to chase the small gains first and hit the off ramp later. Don't have it yet, but this thread is pretty interesting.
