Hello Guys.
I have just build up a small desktop rig which i use sometimes when i want to listen music while being at pc.

At the moment i only have this as Source\Amp:

HHB UDP-89

As source it works really good imo, really good built-in DAC, balanced output too and ability too play SACD - Divx and other stuff too. I bought it only cause i was able to find it at 50% of the retail price. It also as a Built-in Headphone amp, which works really good with my Grado HF-2, but it totally lacks power with my HD800. With the knob turned at max the volume is only acceptable. So i was thinking about buying a little amp to use for my desktop rig. Is the C2C powerful enough to drive it?

Is there something better for the HD800 in the SAME PRICE RANGE?

I know that even the C2C won't be enough good for the HD800, but since it is only for my desktop rig i just want something that make them to sound acceptable. Thank you very much

C2C is can drive the HD800 with ok quality which I personally do not think it is enough to enjoy HD800. The sound from C2C is quite warm but less in detail where HD800 can shine on.

If you can stretch and go for Roc which accept balance source and drive the HD800 in balance mode.

780$ is really too much. That's why i want to know if there's something better than the C2C on 380$.

Thanks for the advice

You might want to also consider the little dot mkvii. It's a little more(around 460 shipped I think). It's a fully balanced amp with plenty of power to drive the 800s. It might be the best soulution under 500.00.

I can attest to the Roc, I have one and it made a nice difference with my HD600 through balanced mode. Bass is tighter and the soundstage is bigger and the sound is far more coherent.

In that price range, I'd recommend a used Gilmore Lite. It is very good with the HD800.
