Hello Head-Fi'ers!

I have been using my current set-up for a long time and I'm loving it. But frankly, I really miss having speakers sometimes. So, my question is, what cable(s) do I need to connect bookshelf / desktop speakers to the pre-amp outs on my Audio-GD C2.1? Or is it even possible to use my C2.1 preamp as a desktop speaker amp? I have only dealt with headphones before so this will be my first foray into speakers and I have no idea what I'm doing. I will provide a link to Audio-GD's spec sheet for the C2.1 below for reference.

(Also feel free to recommend any great pair of bookshelf / desktop speakers under $300

Thanks in advance for any comments / suggestions!

Monoprice 5" studio monitors, $170.79
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=115&cp_id=11504&cs_id=1150401&p_id=605500&seq=1&format=2
The Monoprice 5" seems to come from the same factory as the M-Audio BX5s and have the same specs and the back panels are about 85% the same.
The Monoprice 5" are said to be based on the older BX5 (A), not the newer BX5 (D2).

This Hosa CPR-202 cable ($6.99) will connect the C2.1's RCA outputs to the TRS inputs on the studio monitors
(Dual 1/4" TS Male-Dual RCA Male)

Thanks! That actually looks like a nice little setup. For less than $200 even!

It's the exact same studio monitors and cable I have connected to my Audio-GD NFB-15.32 :)

Oh nice! Any comments about the sound / performance? Are they great all-around speakers to sit in front of for Music / Movies / Gaming Etc.? I'm just looking for a good all-rounder I guess.

I'm fine with the Monoprice's audio quality, not a big bass, but enough for me.
I prefer to use headphones for everything, but sometimes my ears need a rest and the studio monitors are less taxing.

There is also the JBL LSR305 studio monitors, $260 for a pair.

Emotiva Airmotiv 5S, $349 (pair)

I would assume the JBL & Emotiva are at least a little better, then the Monoprice.

Those JBL also look very tempting. The Emotiva's are probably nice but are a bit above what I'm looking to spend at the moment!

Yea, I'm thinking those JBLs are the ones you should go for.
