Morning all,
I recently purchased a new laptop that has USB 3.0, USB 2.0 & HDMI outputs. I’ve begun ripping my CDs to 16/44000 FLAC and have been downloading higher quality 24 bit FLAC files as well. I’m currently sending the output via USB 2.0 to a Cambridge Audio DACMagic, but I’m limited to 16/48000 as my max output. Is there any “real” benefit to getting an HDMI splitter to pull the digital audio output at the original file bitrate? It means adding another piece of equipment (and spending more money) for what maybe a small, or no improvement.
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
