I'd say it's three "different sensations" , and three different uses.
You won't get an "epihany" from either (audio nirvana is such a hard thing to grasp
) .
Instead you should consider what's most convenient for you, and sound signature you want.
Most likely the hd598 would provide the best sound quality, but that doesn't means you'd like them.
If you want some serious bass for instance, the hd598 do not deliver it.
The hd598 is the headphone that every newbie seems to look for, and I find that's a bit disappointing. There was a time it was the hd595, and the hd595 is one of the most regretted headphone if you read discussions.
Headphones provide a more "intimate" sound than speakers, but can be more fatiguing .
And also because it's close to your ears, you don't loose much of the music content.
