Hey there,

I do field recording when I go for camping on weekends. And when I go camping, I use my bike so I need to travel lightly. I will soon embark on a new journey to capture more audio and I want to go even more compact for it.

For the weekend trips, I edit my audio at home, on my desktop PC. But once I'm mobile for a long time, i need to edit and upload on the go.

So I can either buy a 12" laptop that weighs as little as possible and run Audition on it or perhaps I can do it on the smartphone, what do you say? I recently found out that a stylus helps controlling the phone with greater accuracy, almost like a mouse. With the OTG cable, I can access the audio files in my recorder. And there are some seemingly useful audio editing apps for Android.

The thing is would phone editing decrease the quality? I currently record 24bit/192Khz wav and upload 24/96 FLAC.
