Whatever is directly touching the bare wire is the dielectric.

If you are planning to cover bare wire, the best thing would be teflon or cotton tubes.

As for cable sleevings, which are only for looks and durability, I order from wirecare.com. They have the entire techflex line and have great prices. Their customer service is excellent as well.


EDIT: Is this for that ER-4 cable you were talking about making?

I don't have experience with sleeving bare wires in telfon or cotton tubes. Sorry.

All I can say is go for really tiny gauge stuff, maybe 30AWG.
