THe audigy certainly have tightened up the base and open more soundstage and details in my A700. The problem is that whenever i turn up the volume , i would get this crackles and sorta recessed sound in vocal.Nothing happened to lowered volume level. Was this the recessed mids that everyone was talking about?

Will an amp improve my situation?

i get the same crackling problem with my Audigy 2ZS and my Audigy 4.

what i did was just set the volume to default and use a headamp to give more volume to my headphones if i need it.
