That sucks. I love sidetone.
Agreed, so far I've decided i'll skip that headset and stick with my penrose because of these sidetone downsides (mostly the fact that muting the mic has no effect on sidetone, but the reported interferences are a no-go too).

Also, while I do not understand how the thing the dongle is connected to (PC or playstation) can affect the BT priority behavior, i would need the "playstation" behavior but on PC. Did anyone try using the dongle on PC with the slider on playstation position ? Would it work at all?

The first one, Audeze Maxwell BT - the BLE option never appears and in fact it's greyed out in my developer options on my pixel 6 (non pro). Just re-paired and it's the same.

While Android 13 is intended to have built-in LE Audio support and there's plenty of supporting phone hardware, as of August there were issues with the audio subsystems involved. I don't think anything's been clarified on this since then, but with a slew of new phone releases and MWC 2023 having just happened, I'd imagine there'll be news soon.

There's still only a handful of LC3 and LC3Plus items on the market right now, so the dev crunch hasn't commenced.
Do we know yet if they will work on both?

Will the Xbox Maxwell work with PlayStation (or vice versa)?

Either version is universally compatible using the 3.5mm connection. In low-latency wireless mode or via USB, due to differing hardware, firmware, and licensing requirements, the PlayStation version will not work on Xbox. Xbox version on PlayStation via the USB dongle is not officially supported and may not work. Using the Xbox version on PS via wired USB, there may be some limitations in volume control and other possible loss of functionality. We recommend use of the properly supported version for each console.
The answer is effectively yes. If it works on PC without any specialised drivers, it should have zero issues on a PS5, they're just throwing in a disclaimer that they haven't tested or designed it with Playstation support in mind.

2 days in and still on 74%!!

Finding Audeze eq to be fine for me on BF2042 and Hogwarts Legacy on PS5.

Now just playing around with a Music eq. I'd like a fraction more bass but more importantly slightly warmer mids/upper mids. Still feel they are a little forward for my music listening.

Headset overall hasn't disappointed though. The range now is on a different level to the Penrose - makes getting the the kitchen to make a drink and uninterrupted experience!

Spent 3 hours yesterday revisiting tracks just with iPhone via Bluetooth. Very impressed with the sound. Usb-C to MacBook sounded slightly better, but whatever BT codec the iPhone and these handshake over seemed plenty good enough.

Actually did some multiplayer gaming and teammates said the mic sounded unusually clear. Sidetones mild ”static” doesn’t seem to be an issue for me. Between game audio and voice chat, it’s barely quiet enough to ever notice it. Then when you’re done it’s quick and easy to turn sidetone off for more critical listening.

Still haven’t had a disconnect either, at any range throughout the house.

Had these for over a week now and never recharged it to 100 percent yet. Have at least 30% left. The battery is truly amazing

5hrs of gaming on Thursday, 2-3hrs music listening Friday during the day, then another 6hrs gaming last night and I'm on 85%.

I'm liking the treble boost EQ for music, it's only a subtle increase in the highs. Just need to remember to switch the EQ over when gaming - it would be cool if different connection methods saved different default EQ's.

Hello, can you disable the sidetone in Maxwell?

If it can't be turned off, is there any noise or hiss with the microphone being muted?
Clicking the lower wheel enters sidetone volume mode, wheel up or down to adjust the mix.

Double clicking that wheel enters a similar mode where you can switch sidetone on or off entirely.

For me, the headphones are perfect with sidetone off, no discernible hiss or noise. With sidetone on, very slight intermittent electrical static noise, that you would notice when it’s “quiet” (no audio playing through).

Muted or not, the microphone makes no difference to either scenario.

There is audible noise when sidetone is about 75% upwards but while playing multiplayer/FPS it can't be heard so in my experience not really a problem....

Sidetone has noise, yes. But it’s still less than the Penrose and pretty much every headset I’ve used with sidetone has something similar. It’s a sacrifice of sidetone in general it seems.

Anyway a quick press of a wheel on the headset and it’s off if you don’t like it

The response to Maxwell has been overwhelming. We really appreciate all the great feedback we are getting.

Maxwell for Xbox has been certified by Microsoft and is cleared for shipment.

We are currently updating the firmware to the approved version before shipments can begin. Our goal is to start shipping by March 15th.

We aim to ship orders based on the date received. Some customers will have their shipping label created in advance of the shipping date.

Thank you for your patience and we will keep you updated.
What great news, soon all Maxwell X buyers will receive their headsets, hooray!

I never understand why people use that myself I can hear my voice even with the headset on it’s unnecessary imo but there are plenty who do like it.
