Is there access to a user manual so that we can see how it operates buttons wise etc? Thank you for all your answers!
We are still finalizing functions, and will have more in terms of user guide once we approach release.

For now the main things you can expect (may subject to change):

Power button:

Hold: Power on/off
Single press = media play/pause
Double press = pairing BT
Triple Press: Pairing usb dongle

Top wheel:

Up/Down = audio volume control
Single press + up/down = media previous/next track
double press + up/down = EQ preset selection

Bottom wheel (chat/comm wheel):

Up/Down = Game/Chat Mix adjust (currently PC/Xbox only. Still finalizing features)
Single press + up/down = sidetone volume adjust
double press = sidetone on/off toggle

Mic mute up/down = you guessed it, mic mute on/off

MFB button (next to mic port)

Double press = Microphone ai noise reduction "Noise Suppression" low, high, off.

In case anyone is wondering about your outgoing microphone volume control, microphone no longer has volume control because it uses AGC (automatic gain control), which adjusts on the fly. If you want to adjust past that, you'll have to use system/console mic volume controls.

I'm not a Gamer, but as someone who liked Audeze prior gaming headsets for audio quality, the earcups didn't extend far enough (I've that same issue with the LCD-1), I'd consider these if the new headband extends farther. Mainly for audio listening (BT, USB or 3.5). How do they work for 3.5, powered only? If also passive are they really high impedance? Will ATMOS in the XBox version work playing ATMOS encoded streaming service songs? The price is good and I can't wait to see what the app for this will do.

Audeze has indicated that these require onboard power to use via 3.5mm (like the Penrose and Mobius)—so you have to be cautious with your source device output level when using via 3.5mm. If you can avoid it, I'd stick to USB wired or USB 2.4GHz dongle or Bluetooth.

As for Atmos on Xbox...to my knowledge, no music streaming services integrate with Dolby Atmos for Windows/Xbox. For example, Apple Music's Atmos support is limited to Apple hardware only. From a technical perspective, there is no reason why it couldn't happen, but from a business perspective, Apple is paying to license Dolby Atmos for their own operating system platforms, not for others' platforms.

Microsoft isn't paying for Dolby Atmos support in Windows or Xbox; instead, you the end user end up paying for that license to enable it in the aforementioned platforms.

If you buy an Atmos license for Xbox or Windows, any headphone can work with it. The Maxwell isn't doing anything for it other than giving you a license. So it's not going to be the Atmos experience you'd get from the "proper" way that streaming services would want.

As I understand Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited and Tidal offers Atmos Music....

And about Atmos License you are right. This License is a Virtualized Object based Algorithm so any Headphone can take advantage of it because it is the audio source in charge of the processing, like a Console, Receiver, Android TV, etc. And thats where the License appears and also thats why a PS5 doesnt have one because no Atmos is currently supported by it..as you say, there is no need for something especial in your Headphones. But of course the better the Headphone you have a higher chance to get better result and Audeze Planar Products are well known worldwide for their audio quality...

By the way Atmos, from Dolby Studios is only one of many of this Algorithms... Neural DTS X, Tempest 3D from Sony PS5, or the one from Microsoft in XBOX which dont remember now its name are other examples...

I am confused by these answers. I understand that I can not pair a PS5 Maxwell to an Xbox Dongle (vice/versa), but will I be able to plug in a PS5 Maxwell + Ps5 Dongle into an Xbox or an Xbox Maxwell + Xbox Dongle into a PS5?

Is there any possible way to buy 1 Maxwell headset and have used on both Xbox and PS5?
PS version headset does not support Xbox due to a lack of Microsoft chip/licensing. You can still use the PS Maxwell on Xbox, but only with the Aux cable input to the Xbox controller.

Xbox Maxwell WILL work on Playstation as stated, many, many times before on this thread. You can connect through aux cable, or set the dongle to PC mode, but bear in mind that you will be quite limited in function. It will WORK, but you may lack things like high enough volume output, volume control, and cause a higher noise floor.

This single feature is what made me buy the penrose and now they nuked it. They even compare the maxwell to the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless - which does simultaneos bt+wireless.
@Audeze is there any chance of enabling it via update?

No, this would mean we'd need an additional chipset, as well as drive up the cost of Maxwell, as well as add a lot more complexity to an already complex platform. It is not going to be possible. We've decided to focus on the vast majority of other features which are a considerable improvement in most aspects over the Penrose. We understand that we can't make everyone happy, but we think our targeted features will speak for themselves.

  • Embedded Dolby Atmos® License (XBox version only)
Too sad. What about PS5 users?

Sony already uses their own surround algorithm in Sony Tempest 3D Audio, which you can consider direct competition to Atmos for headphones. It's also free, and embedded into the core PS5 functionality.
Sorry to ask this subject again...by saying "will not do simultaneous bt and wireless" means you cannot play a game and listen its audio while at the same time listening Spotify connected to the Phone? It is one or the other?

And if your playing and get a phone call means the game audio will end and you will only hear the ring sound of the call and if you answer, the phone call itself?

Thanks...

Again, NO simultaneous audio. You can pair BT and dongle at the same time, and when a call comes in, you tap on the power button and it will switch to the call. Once it's over it should switch back to the dongle/game audio.

To clarify one last time: You will not be able to hear both game and BT audio at the same time. We have specified why earlier.

@Audeze Thank you for engaging with the community on here. Can you share the design goals on sound presentation/quality for this new model compared to Mobius and Penrose, and what owners of the previous models can expect in sound quality particularly for music listening?

This is an evolution of what we have learned with Penrose. Of course this bring improvements in as many areas as we could think of in relation to Penrose. We are known for our class leading audio quality, and we have focused on making sure we are still at the forefront of audio quality for gaming headsets, which I believe many of you will agree with. Audio quality comes first, but we have also wanted to bring the latest and greatest technologies like Multi point and multi link, LCD3 and LC3plus, AI Noise Reduction on microphones, and a host of other things, like an extremely long battery life of 80+ hours at 80db, improved connection quality and range, and reinforced chassis with aluminum and steel parts.

Will you be taking pre orders till they ship?
Pre-orders are first come first served. So if you pre-order extremely late, you may not be on the first shipment, and may have to wait quite sometime for the next batch, which we do not have info on at this time.

We do not have info on pre-order conclusions. So Pre-order as soon as possible so as to not miss a chance.

Late orders may be at the mercy of when shipments arrive to us from overseas, which can have unforeseen delays, like aliens attacking, or nuclear war, or other shipping issues.

Aliens attacking won't be an excuse if my headset is late :p hehe
