Breaking in my Moon Audio Black Dragons with the LCD-XC's
I appreciated your post, @EvilKillaruna . I'm waffling between either a pair of Audeze closed-back OR a closed-back DanClark audio (MrSpeakers) unit. They both use that planar-type driver that I'm curious about. I want a pair of luxury cans for my 50th birthday. Meh... will keep monitoring the threads...I don't know what is "ghetto spacer" but anything on screws has the tendency to get sliced while screwing. As shown by placeholders on pictures above, the spacers should be placed right next to screw holes, not on screw or anywhere else. Four of them are enough, but you can add more in other places in a profiling groove in which a wooden can goes, of course if you want.
The whole concept is to elevate wooden cups VERY slightly. The goal is not to create a semi-open model from XC, but to give the transducer chamber a very controlled, minimal amount of air.
If this modification seems too difficult and too complicated, the general rule is not to take it forcibly. If you're happy with your headphones - simply don't mess with them.
I think that handmaking these headphones and the randomness of the screwing of wooden earcups causes different opinions about them in some people, especially those reporting flat sound and lack of bass.

Off-Topic nothing. How does LCD-XC does for gaming, Soundstage and Imaging mostly? Would me my prior use Yes i do know about the weight, not much of a problem, sound comes always first to meSome five or six years ago I would, but these days it's mainly work, gaming became a sort of celebration once every few days.
Sorry for off-topic!
I have used it for gaming and it's great. Footsteps are very clear in bfv and cod mw.Off-Topic nothing. How does LCD-XC does for gaming, Soundstage and Imaging mostly? Would me my prior use Yes i do know about the weight, not much of a problem, sound comes always first to me

Yes, no doubt. But it will also sounds way better than El8 Titanium i have! And got broken just yesterday :/ second pair i own got driver issue in a year, got to pay repair again :/It's tempting to say that it beats any regular (and more affordable) gaming headphones to a pulp, but I won't go this far without knowing every single one out there. So conservatively I'll say that, knowing how it sounds, LCD-XC will perform in gaming activities very well
And got broken just yesterday :/

The environment sounds like what you'd expect. If you're in a tunnel, it sounds like you're in a tunnel. If it's open world, you feel like you're in the wilderness.

It's much easier to go from closed to open that's for sure.Question about LCD XC, can you technically open the maple cup and make them open LCD X ?! i;m just wondering
Anyone ever do this, is there any stuff behind the enclosure, i cant find any info ?! I read some forum they said opening it will void warranty, well my second unit dont have warranty anymore, can i easily open the maple cup and reattach it again ?
If it's easier to detach and re-attach again, well i considered to open it then, any idea ?

And yes opening will void.
