I just recently picked up a pair of Audeze LCD-X (2021).

They are currently being driven by the headphone amp on my MOTU M2 interface connected to my PC using Tidal as my source with Sonarworks EQ.

The sound is fantastic and at around 12-1PM on the volume dial I get plenty of volume without any complaints.

Is there a valid reason to consider buying a proper dedicated headphone amp considering how easily driven the LCD are? Will I really get a justifiable improvement on my overall detail/imaging etc?

There is never a point in upgrading you’re truly happy with the sound.

But the mind is a funny thing.

Buy if you want and can afford it. Dopamine hits alone from new gear are worth it, doesnt matter if you need that gear or not.
