So I just got myself some nice Audez'e LCD rev 2's but I haven't got a decent amplifier to run them from. I tried a JDSLabs CmoyBB which sounded horrific. I was wondering if it would be possible for us to compile a CONCISE list of amplifiers by price range for those after a new amp.

I believe there's a fairly extensive thread in the amplifiers section with the information you're looking for.

hate to be guy that says it but their is already heaps of thread on LCD-2 amps without starting a new thread.

Yeah don't run the LCD-2 on the cmoy but it just so happens JDS labs also sells the o2 amp which works fine with LCD-2 - best bang for buck.

The amps I have heard that sound good with the the LCD-2 rev whatever are:

  1. B22
  2. Luxman P-1u
  3. Apex Pinnacle
  4. Balancing Act

I'm sure there are others.

The best amp  I have heard on my audeze lcd2 rev2 was the new bryston balanced headphone amp. But  I only auditioned it for two and a half hours and only in single ended fashion. The bryston has a neutral sounding balance that seems to balance out the lcd2 rv2s tendancy to be slightly warm sounding. The performance of this combination seems to be neutrally balanced with very good resolution awsesome bass and good dynamics. I have never heard my lcd2s sound better at least in single ended listening. It would be nice to hear the bryston driving the lcd2 rev2 in balanced configuration. But in single ended configuration it works for me.But the bryston is very revealing of source imperfections and as such can be ruthlessly revealing of short comings of source material and or component shortcomings.
I plan to listen to this amp some more in the future with other phones as well. I have it on my short list for amplifier upgrades in the next year if I can swing it finanacially. But I will be listening to it some more with my lcd2 rev2s before I can substantiate its overall performance.

the summery of all those threads is that the LCD-2 sounds great with just about everything.  Though people keep mentioning the same amps over and over for some reason.
