I believe this thread start first here (with more complete info) so I'm gonna post here.

Crazy good for 420 gram weight! Hopefully they don't change their house sound much!
The weight reduction is a VERY welcome change.

It will be interesting for future LCD models that are lower in the line.......I can’t help but think the whole line will see a gradual revamp to this design. Obviously not with the high end magnesium ear cups of the 5 but even in aluminum they would likely be lighter than say the current LCD-X. I love the LCD line and love my pair of LCD-X but I don’t think I’m stretching the truth by saying those designs are due for an update.

On another note.....the use of acetate rings on the LCD-5 opens up a customization option for Audeze I would think........the color/pattern combos are pretty wide open with what you can make if they’re making those in-house

Gonna wait to see how it compares to Susvara and if their drivers fail or not and if there is finally good bass or bass at all, when I still used my LCD-3F it died on me twice or three times, last time I didn't care to send them back and they didn't really have Bass.
But all in all it's a potential.

Weight is the only barrier I lost interest with LCD flagships, so now 5 remove the problem.

I truly wish what happened with LCD 4 v1 wouldn't happen again this time.

They didn't double the price again and only 420 grams! and there was much rejoicing...

I can confirm that they are significantly lighter and quite comfortable! I have a review coming up for them and I am very excited in getting to know them better! Oh, and they are beautifully constructed too!
