I think we are hearing the same thing. I was specifically referencing this in relation to Blue Hawaii: “CRBN on the other hand, while being more nuanced and displaying better definition and control, seemed as though it lacked a little bit of impact, in contrast”. I was suggesting solid state KG design would likely resolve these shortcomings.
As others have noted, the LCD-5 just has better bass impact in general. Which is to be expected when it comes to planars vs. e-stats. The CRBN does still have very enjoyable bass.
I would actually think the BHSE would be a really good pairing for the CRBN due to it's holographic nature and spaciousness, which for me is the only downside of the CRBN compared to other TOTL stats. But I'll know soon as I should be getting my BHSE back from Headamp very soon.
