That is very difficult to answer, and you may need to demo each next to each other.Thank you but also more expensive than used LCD4. Is the HE 1000V2 better than LCD4? if not i will get the LCD4
The problem is they are more or less polar opposites.
The HE 1000V2 is fairly balanced and linear, so will appeal to some for that aspect. The LCD4 is not, it is a beast in the bass, has creamy (warm) mids, and good upper treble but a bit recessed mid treble.
However, if you like Reggae, EDM, POP, then you will be in heaven IMO with the LCD4. Think leather sofa Jazz, that is the LCD4. They also respond very well to EQ.
I still own and use the LCD4 200ohm after 4 years, so that says something. For more transparency I grab the Abyss TC.
A new HE1000 V2 is cheaper than a used LCD 4.Thank you but also more expensive than used LCD4. Is the HE 1000V2 better than LCD4? if not i will get the LCD4
Wow, that is quite good on the LCD-4 - has a dreamy / relaxing signature with a wide sound stage, deep bass, and engaging vocals.Beck - Morning Phase
Whole Album is breathtaking with LCD 4,
and I listen to this with a lot of TOTL Can‘s, at least with a D8KP LE.
This is a question only you can decide. The HE-1000 V2 and LCD-4's have two totally different presentations, which one you like more is something you need to discover. I owned both and liked both for different reasons.Thank you but also more expensive than used LCD4. Is the HE 1000V2 better than LCD4? if not i will get the LCD4
I see you have the LCD 24, how does it compare to the LCD 4? Worth checking out? This is a question only you can decide. The HE-1000 V2 and LCD-4's have two totally different presentations, which one you like more is something you need to discover. I owned both and liked both for different reasons.
Just finished, and thanks for the list - you certainly offered an eclectic range of suggestions. Ol' Bernard Herrmann, always thought his name was a spelling mistakeDisturbia - Dance Fruits Music (for bass)
Because of You - Kelly Clarckson (for vocals)
Outside - Staind (acoustical strings)
Fade to Black - Metallica (all round amazing on this headphone)
Secret - Maroon 5 (vocals)
Who Do You Believe In? - 2PAC (instrument separation and great hip hop track)
Photon (Gerd Janson 808 Mix) - Deetron (for bass)
When Night Falls - Jesse Cook (acoustical guitar)
Geist - Overwerk (for bass)
Drift and Die - Puddle of Mudd (acoustical guitar)
Alacran Y Pistolero - Chingon
Welcome To The Jungle - Guns N Roses
I Still Can't Sleep - Bernard Herrmann
Hunter - Bjork
What Amp/DAC are you running with the LCD 4?

I bought a new open box HE1000v2 from HeadAmp for $1600. Used for $1500 is very possible. Currently own the LCD4 and HE1000v2 and they are indeed polar opposite. Nice contrast. If you really like the LCD3 and want to keep it the Hifiman might be a good companion choice.Thank you but also more expensive than used LCD4. Would get the Hifiman 1000 V2 for around $1700 US the LCD 4 for $2200 US plus taxes i know the Arya (from short listening in a loud place so no memorys about it than just this great hight) but not the 1000 V2 is it worth it? Do they have deep extended bass?

I really enjoy my LCD-24’s. They have a lot in common with the LCD-4’s with a few exceptions. I hear them as having a slightly more neutral presentation meaning not as warm sounding as the LCD-4’s. The LCD-24’s actually sound faster and more resolving due to them being transparent sounding. The bass although not as deep is just as impactful and can be EQ’d to have just as much bass as the LCD-4’s if desired.I see you have the LCD 24, how does it compare to the LCD 4? Worth checking out?
I am assuming they also have a wider soundstage? Do you prefer the vocals on them also?I really enjoy my LCD-24’s. They have a lot in common with the LCD-4’s with a few exceptions. Yes, the soundstage is slightly wider on the LCD-24’s. Vocals still go to the LCD-4’s. They sound more sultry and lush on the LCD-4’s.I am assuming they also have a wider soundstage? Do you prefer the vocals on them also?

Does anyone know of a good source for new or B-stock LCD-4? (Besides Audeze's infrequent sales.) I've been hoping one would come up through World's Best Headphones, but nothing for a couple months. Thanks.
I got my pair in excellent condition in ebony wood on Ebay for £1950 in the UK. There is currently one listing on Ebay for the same ebony wood version but this one is with the original blue cable that only came with the first 200 shipments so I would assume this is the 100ohm version but I can't verify that. The only issue is that it ships from Japan so I don't know what the custom fees would be but it depends on your location. Listing below:Does anyone know of a good source for new or B-stock LCD-4? @wbass - I'd be careful here.I would assume this is the 100ohm version
Am I right that Audeze discontinued this version because of driver reliability issues?
FWIW, I got mine (the 200 ohms one) from The Music Room. I've not seen any there for a while but it's worth checking periodically.
