Did ask the guys at work, Audeze do a challenge, They bring up an issue, best idea wins a small prize?
Just a thought!

Agreed Middy. We have in the past used many resources from HeadFi. Kabeer, MacedonianHero, Saachu to name a few. Even though we do not post often, we look into the posts and have made changes etc.

What you are saying is definitely true and we will be more engaging on headfi in future.

Good to hear, I just ordered mine today and can't wait to hear them!

Any idea on how long from placing an order to when they ship out?

We sure make mistakes. We try to correct them and sometimes over-correct as well.  If we are a bit more transparent and hopefully post more on headfi, we can clear some of the misconceptions.

For me as an Longtime Headphone Freak,i can't understand that AUDEZE goes the same way again and again and again!same Design, same Construction, with the same parts, for 4000 USD!!!....and that in 2015!!!

The only right thing is the EL8,in design,in weight,in comfort!!
Perhaps we will get a AUDEZE LCD 5 for 6000 USD,with 800 Gramm?and much much more overlarged caps than LCD4??

I know the best Engeniers&Contributors behind this Industrie, and they are laughing about this and says yes that's really crazy that people are spending a lot of money for that!

PLANAR HEADPHONES should have max 350-400 Gramm, with smaller Cups, and better design, with much more comfort,it its easy and possible for a price over 3000 usd!

We are in 2015 and not in 2005!!

Regards Nomax

What would you change then to improve the Audeze issues?
If they forgot profit margin an sold for the LCD3 Price? Genuine question.

The wood must have an big influence to the sound or they would just use a thin aluminium frame with a beatsesque plastic housing.
You don't get much denser than ebony.
Maybe reduce the internal wood diameter, have a steel spoked frame to hold the diaphragm. Spread out the resonance into the wood. I don't know what the wood acts as, an absorber and transmitter to give the house sound people mention.

What did your insiders say Nomax?

I think maybe wood outer with internal composite materials.

I'm pretty sure other than Audeze, the planars on the market all have manageable weight. What you are saying makes no sense.

This thread is overrun with critics who haven't heard the headphone they're criticizing.

I'd have no issue with anyone who's heard the LCD-4 and has criticism and look forward to feedback from actual listeners in the next few weeks. Positive or negative. Hopefully the first person to receive theirs will start an impressions thread.

I had the LCD-3F and liked it but sold it to buy a pair of mint condition used HE1000s...best decision i have made! The HE1000's are simply better IMHO in every way and so much more comfortable....perhaps the LCD-4 will compete with the HE1000 but I thought the HE1000's were expensive so the LCD-4s are off the charts expensive.....we shall see i guess

I don't criticisim the sound,i criticisim that Audeze goes always the same way!large cups, heavy weight, old construction, old design, always the same story!!again, again and again!!and that for a retail price for thousands usd for ONE HP?

I am also not a lover or a fan from fang bians HE 1000,but he was going a new way in design, comfort, construction and design! He is on the right way

Lol Nomax that's a razer blade with speakers.
I am not disagreeing about your points of views at all. I maybe one of the few with a really big head (not wallet) to cope.

I am trying to tease out more than.

To big
To heavy
To expensive
To many issues.
From people..

It's more a engineering/design question.

Your the type of person I mean, huge amount of experience with cans, probably more than some designers out of college.
I wouldn't think twice about asking you for an opinion and help.

Do we want to help more than a consumer and really help as a community. Regardless of brand or product.

Beats audio advertising budget is probably 10x Audeze turnover before costs.

Headfi is a Huge knowledge base, more than headphone experts. Factory workers scientist, media, customer service..

Start ups crave and company's pay huge amounts for feed back.

Audeze may be missing a trick here and have mentioned so.
A few help, I think more can and supporting is more than parting with cash.

One word: Abyss.

I for one don't mind the weight, it makes me feel i'm holding something of value. Literally, there are more expensive... heavier headphones on the market... and if Audeze wants to sell its own "flavor" of headphone in league with them, so be it. Also the headphones are already in production, let them fail or succeed based on what they've made... not a what could of been.

I for one love the Audeze sound and don't mind investing in the LCD-4. I installed a Lohb suspension strap on my LCD-2 and can wear them for hours with little adjustments here and their. Even the Ether C, which I just received, needs to be adjusted here and there. So if the LCD-4 suspension strap is anything like or better than the Lohb then I'm sold.

Just my two cents :)
