Amp tailoring for your TOPL cans seems the raison d'etre in the manufacturer lexicon now, since Senn's did theirs.

I wonder how P'S Audio's new designed King amp sounds verse the Audeze King version..But $3000 dollars more for PS'S...eek Ref DAR (D Darko)on RMAF visit

Both would look GREAT IMHO. Good wood always looks great. Any changes to sonics with a densely pack grain structure I wonder?

Just in case anyone is interested in a break from all this bunk, I have some feedback on the new suspension headband. Ive installed a demo unit on my LCD-X and its a fantastic improvement over stock. I even prefer it to the Lohb strap, which I have really enjoyed this last month or so.

The new headband is very easy to replace for anyone who hasnt done it before...takes all of five mins. Like the Lohb strap it eliminates nearly all the downward pressure of the previous headband. The width of it disperses the remaining weight very evenly to where its far more comfortable. Moreso, the clamping pressure is perfect. Just enough clamp for a proper seal AND to keep the headphones from shifting on my head when I change position. That was an issue on the previous version for me.

It also gives the headphones a smaller profile, which I think many will appreciate. All in all, Audeze came up with a near-perfect design, in my opinion.

I think I got an email a day or two ago from Audeze saying my lcd-4 should ship on the 23rd, so that would be next week. I completely forgot about it til now; I'll have to read it and see if my recollection is true.

Let them send you a new pad. Physical perfection is the least to expect from a product that sucks more than $2000 out of our hard-earned income.

Yeah, Mark Cohen rang me up Monday and asked how I wanted my cable terminated. Must mean shipping is near. I am on the fence with this one. My Taboo is set up for balanced, along with the LCD-2, but the King appears to be SE, as is my LF, and the incoming NADAC.

Looking forward to your impressions. IMO, get the balanced termination as you can always get a short XLR to SE adapter cable.

Thanks for the recommendation bfreedma; that's where I am headed. That way, I can l listen to the LCD-4 right away on the Taboo, whose signature I know well with my LCD-2, and it's all set up with the Lumin ready to go.
