The leather of my Audeze LCD-2 is starting to peel off. I bought them about one year ago, I have not used them too much, and I have always kept them closed inside the plastic box.

This is very disappointing. It is a very expensive equipment that now looks very cheap, and I am currently not in a condition to spend $80 + shipping on new pads. Cheaper brands last longer than this!

Hello,
My pads are peeling too :frowning2: So  I plan on buying a new pair on X-mas occasion. Can anyone tell me if Audeze improved the quality of the pads? Or a better substitute 3rd brand of pads for LCD headphones.
Thank in advance,

Continuation of the nightmare.

I bought new original expensive earpads and now they are rotten again.

Unfortunately, I cannot find cheap alternatives. Anyone knows if they are available? Most headphones seem to have non-official earpads but I cannot find them for this model.

I have only used them for a few days at home, non-sweating - non smoking - air conditioned environment.

Last time I used them (about 4 months ago) they were in perfect condition. Today I open the case and I've got a nasty surprise when I see them.

It's hot here in Thailand, but I've always keep them at the original box when not using them.

This headphones are a ruin!!! :triportsad::triportsad::triportsad:

Is this happening only to me?

Looks exactly like mine. Though loving Audeze sound i have to say it has the worst cosmetic quality among headphones i have owned. Peeling leather earpads, peeling metallic yoke, 3 broken stock flat cables..all things I had to buy new again many times :frowning2: plus shipping to my country fee,,I recommend you to mail to Audeze to buy the new earpads. Now they are made from fake leather instead of low-quality real leather like in the past..

I bought a new pair of pads in Jan. They were not made of real leather anymore. But I love them. The new pads are softer and will not peel off like the old "Italy leather" pads. Dont know about the new headband, sorry

For your information:

I have found a cheaper alternative to replace the Audeze LCD-2 disgustingly rotten earpads: on Ali Express, CP Yang Store, for $13 only

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000523241699.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.1f0f4c4dChQ3Xq

Material: Protein Leather /sheepskin
Suitable For Monoprice Monolith M1060 AUDEZE LCD2 LCD3 LCD4 FOSTEX TH900 NHH-1

It took 25 days until they were shipped (perhaps they build them on demand) and arrived from Singapore to Bangkok in 9 days. But it was really worth the wait.

The only observation is that they do not come with the circle of double-side tape, but that is an easy DIY fix

They are really worth, unless you are someone who can throw money away

Thanks for sharing this. I have replaced mine with the new revision of audeze. If this pair will end up like before then I will definitely try the one you recommended.
