[Shure or bust]

I am torn between picking up the open vs closed version of these headphones. My #1 is sound quality. I've only owned open back headphones and outside noise doesn't bother me once the music gets playing. I am torn between the two. I can get a pair of open backs for $550 and a pair of closed for less than that. Need help choosing and advice. Thanks

I am having this issue. Open or closed open or closed. AAAH! which one do I get >_< how different is the sound between the two. does the soundstage suffer on the closed?

The open one sounds like a LCD-2. It sounds really good even from a small portable amplifier.
The closed one sounds like poop. Really really strange honky sounding midrange.
