[Ethereal Sound]

Hey guys so I've had the Hifiman He500 but basically it is murdering my neck so I've decided to look into getting a different pair of headphones. I am currently looking into the EL8 or the HE560 as alternatives. I really liked the signature of the He500 but I'm aware that there's a strong possibility I won't get it in another headphone which is fine with me as long as the next pair I have is a headphone that does well in most genres, especially in classical/instrumental with some nice bass quality. Any help is appreciated!

The EL8 did not impress me very much and I easily preferred my modded He500. The EL8 just sounded like a decent headphone but the mids were lacking compared to the 500 and the EL8c sounded harsh. Haven't heard the HE560.

Ultrasone 2900 pros are a nice open headphone with good bass, I also have EL-8 (closed back though) and HE 500 and the Ultrasones have a better soundstage than both.
