If you are a fan of the original Extra Bass series the MDR-XB700 is going away.  I like it so much I bought two new pairs as spares.  I suggest you get a spare as well.  I bought the new MDR-XB800 and the MDR-XB600.  Both are on a FedEx truck right now to me.  I will compare the two for you, but it's no guarantee that its better than the XB700.

Let's just say I'm very disappointed if XB800 doesn't sound better than XB700 as it costs like twice as much, I'm not suprised if XB600 also does but it's probably even slightly more bright than XB700 from the FR graph from the russian site which then it's a matter of preference, at least I don't personally see any need of more highs presence than that of XB700, it's quite suitable as it is. XB800 however do look promissing in FR balance wise.

The XB800 is on ear vs the XB700 over the ear.  That may be a comfort concern.
