Yes and no. Intel has a long history of matching their CPU's with good chipsets. The combo is stable, has decent performance, and in general is more compatible with all sorts of add-in charts. That last part is simply a matter of statistics: if you were an add-in card manufacturer, what would you test for: 80% of the market, or 20%?
And one shouldn't get a 6300 anymore: the 6320 is same price, better performance. Even worse: an E4400 outperforms the E6300 in most tasks, and is lower priced. The current good choices on Intel CPU's are E2160, E4400, E6420 and E6600.
