Hey, I just decided to give a comment since I received a pair of these today.
I can only judge by my ATH-TAD400 and my GFs SJ-33 and boy the sound worse than both. A better comparison is between the SJ-33 since they are around the same price tag. The SJ-33 have a better bass and treble and although the T300 does better at vocals it makes the whole listening a bit enclosed. Maybe its because they are closed-back and I am have gotten used to the TAD400, I don't know. Of course the T300 is more comfortable as the it goes around your ear and generally the build looks strong and nice. Nevertheless, even though I don't listen to bassy music, I'd still go for the SJ-33. They are other brands out there that probably are doing better in that price range.
Actually, I am returning mine tomorrow, since I thought these were kinda portable (I needed them for the commute) and it turns out they are quite big and definitely for a home listening (3m cable screams that, but I was too blind to see).
