So to make a long story short, I've owned a pair of Solo 2.0's for about 5 months now and I've been extremely happy with them. The sound quality is exponentially better than any other Beats product I've listened to thus far, and I really like that I can listen to any genre of music and they compliment it well. However, I had to return them due to issues with the jack and now I have to decide whether to replace them with another pair of Solo 2.0's or try out the ATH-M50Xs.
To help out with suggestions, here were some of my likes and dislikes about the Beats
Pros:
- Tight, punchy bass
- While not a completely neutral sound, the lows, mids, and highs are all clear and crisp.
- Leans towards a warm sound
- I could FEEL the bass on my ears
- Fairly decent sound isolation
- Very little sound leakage
- Lightweight/Comfortable
- Remote cable for phone calls
Cons:
- Soundstage felt a little bit close
- Lows had a tendency to leak into mids, but just ever so slightly
- Male vocals felt underwhelming
My concerns with the ATH-M50Xs are that I've heard the bass is a little bit loose and the sound profile is more v shaped. I would like to know how the sound isolation/leakage is. And lastly I like to be able to feel the physical bass rumble on my ears and I was wondering if you guys have any input in that domain as well.
