For quite a while im having a hard time of choosing between these two.
I would like to know, which ones are better for Metal/Rock music, and especially gaming.
Just need to mention, i dont have an amplifier, and not planning on buying one soon.

I ordered the M50 today for multi-use music/gaming/video editting... dont know much about the AH-D1001 didn't look into those.

I just got the M50s primarily for music using my ipod touch. I can say that they sound great in fact two co-workers listened and commented on their sound. Not to sure how they would sound on metal but my modern rock sound good but not as good as my Jazz/Blues.
