And does the HFI 550 sound anything like the HFI 780?

Cause I am looking for something the opposite of the M50.
So my choices are either the D2000 or the HFI 780.

Please give some input here buddy.

Yep, the HFI780/PL750 will do the opposite of the M50....
The HFI780 are more open in the highs area, than the HFI550 due to the titanium driver.

Aah whew thank god. For a second there I was scared but I feel better now.

Man that M50 sounded congested and muffled as though the sound was trying to escape but had no where to go and hence kept smashing into my ear drum.
I wanna make absolute sure I get the opposite experience of the M50

Hmm those HFI 780 does indeed sound like a nice set of cans now. Well then I just may go ahead and place my order tonight on the 780. Cause from the looks of things doubt I am getting those D2000 for $200.

I happened to come across this thread. I am also considering the M50s and the HFI-780s. I haven't heard either. How would you describe their respective SQ?

BTW, how much are the HFI-780s? They are quite a bit more expensive than the M50s. I wonder if the price delta is justified.
