I own the ESW9 woodie and it is my main portable headphone. I love them for this use and was wondering how the D1001 compare to them, as these are considered portable too right?

What are your thoughts?

Erm, aren't the ESW9s a step up from the D1001s? Like, it's usually D1001 v. ES7 and D2000 v. ESW9, right?

I wouldn't use the D1001s are portable, but then I wouldn't use the ESW9s as portables either. Too big...I like my portables supra-aural, and the D1001s are circum-aural for me (and most people, apparently). Also, the D1001s don't isolate well. Not a great thing for a portable. They do stay on the head well, though.

ofcourse d1001 is portable and transportable.

However they are not fit for use on public transport or noisy public places as they isolate poorly. But then again so do the esw9's...however d1001 does not isolate or passive noise cancel at all///well hardly

the answer is, the esw9's are probably in a different league to the d1001's

however there hasnt been a direct comparison made to give a definitive opinion either way.
