The A1000 pads are indeed a much better grade of pleather, and they're flatter, which improves the bass response substantially.

Still makes the A900 an expensive headphone considering you're well over $200 after replacing the inexcusably poor quality pads it comes with.

I got the same quote, contemplating getting these. how hard is it to take the stock pads off and replace them? I never modded cans and kinda timid about taking apart a $200 set lol

It's not so much hard as tedious.

the pads just have a vinyl collar on them that fits around the flange on the earcup. You pull the collar off / pull the new one on. Just like about 95% of all headphones.

so how much impact does this have on sound? should I just wait till my stock pads wear out or are they really garbage and would I be happier with better pads....

I've never heard the stock pads before they were worn out, so i can't really say for sure. maybe someone else knows.
