Hey I was planning on buying these, but it seems they are quite a hassle to get into Canada.

Any other good closed headphones in this price range? ($150)

Beyer DT 770s are good and in that range, if you can stand the bass.

K181DJ might be worth looking into. The RP-21 as well.

Out of curiousity, what is this hassle you're referring to?

I ordered an A700 from an eBay seller a few months ago and it arrived without incident.

Duty mainly. And inflated shipping costs it seems. People charging 30-40 bucks for shipping?

How do the DT770's perform without an amp?
