Just been successful on EBay and picked up an excellent condition 1999 Silver MZ-R50 (still awaiting delivery)

Two quick questions :

1. I'm not getting an optical interconnect as part of the deal. My Marantz CDP has optical out so i assume i need a mini-Toslink to Toslink cable?

If so

2. There seems to be a variety of cables at varying price points. Is there much difference between a £20 cable and an £80 cable? I can understand differences in analogue cable specs but surely fibre-optics is fibre-optics? Okay, My mistake 3 questions

Any cable recommendations will be gratefully accepted.

There's QUITE a heated discussion on this subject. In my opinion, optical is optical. 1s don't come out as 0s in crappy cables. I'm using the optical cable that came with my mt90. Working fine.

Others, otoh, say optical cables make a diff.
