Out of A500, A900, A900 LTD, A1000, AD2000, W1000, W5000, W2002, and L3000, which one has the largest soundstage? I know the A900 LTDs don't have the soundstage width to compare to my DT880s, but is there an AT headphone that does? I'd hate, however, to have to resort to a lower end AT can than what I have now to get a larger soundstage.

the L3K has a soundstage rivaling that of the Sennheiser HD650.... and it sounds better than any ATH i've ever listened to... that's the one to get.

I was hoping that wasn't the case, because then I'd have to drop $2500 on a set of phones... but in the end, it may be what I'm looking for. Thanks for the opinion.

Do you mean the stax omega 2's? Then it's a no contest, the omega 2's have the larger soundstage.

Modding like dearth beyers will do the trick with A900LTD's IMO.

Also revolution cards adding extra extension's to instruments with A900LTD's which cause them to sound aggressive and collapsing soundstage. BTW... It's my experience with Revo. 7.1

Did you try it with onboard sound ? They'll be dull compare to revo. but will sound better with extra soundstage and instruments seperation.

My experience is with realtek 7.1 onboard sound vs. Revo. 7.1.

I was thinking more of the lines of 404 not omega 2. You reckon 404 got larger soundstage as well? Because I personally think in terms of "wideness" 404 is pretty much there already. I haven't heard L3000 or Omega 2, but if it's even wider, that's awesome. (or not?)

Have you heard a 650? Well the l3k has a smaller soundstage width than that. What it does have is a large headstage than the 650. This helps the l3k.

I have never heard the 404.

I've heard the 650 shortly with XcanV3, but I don't think I heard long enough to make an informed judgement about the soundstage. If I was forced to make an assumption, the soundstage in 650 is not much different (in terms of wideness) as A900, no? (but again, I heard it in a short session, so I may be wrong).

About A900, it's more spherical to me, but the 404 is more spread and lined out.
