The DHA3000 sounds fantastic with virtually any AT woody. I must say however that you and I likely prefer different AT sounds because the W1000 were always too thin to me.

For anyone that hasn't heard a lot of the AT woodies, they really do have very different characteristics. The JPN's and 10LTD's sound more my style and involving like Grados. But even the cooler sounding VTG's sound quite different than the W1000's.

Anyway, I guess my point is the DHA3000 was great for me but may not be for you.

Oh and by the way, the new JPN portables are possible the most enjoyable sounding headphone I own. AT has found near perfection with these...
